techniques used

back strap weaving

Primarily practiced by women, this technique uses a loom secured around the weaver’s waist. The artisan uses her body to create the tension needed to interlace threads, crafting intricate designs with incredible precision. Portable and versatile, the backstrap loom allows women to weave from the comfort of their homes, making it ideal for balancing work with family responsibilities. This technique can take up to ten days to complete one pillow.

b asket weaving

Each basket is handwoven from 100% recycled plastic using an intricate and time-intensive technique that can take up to eight hours to complete. The process demands exceptional skill, patience, and a deep understanding of traditional patterns passed down through generations.

skills training

Our Skills Training Program, part of the Grace to Dream Initiative, is a growing series of hands-on workshops designed to evolve with Estudio Haven. The heart behind it is simple: to empower our artisan partners with new skills that lead to greater job opportunities. We're beginning with foot loom weaving and advanced sewing — these are skills that will be incorporated into future collections once our partners feel confident and ready for the global market. As we grow, we will continue introducing new techniques and expanding our product offerings, creating even more opportunities for the incredible women we work alongside.
